final reconfiguration of the song to one-page book with the short story and the doodling drawing
[a]
edition a
The main part of this one-page book is the story which is written having in mind the song’s music and lyrics. The song is something that we hear with our ears. This new format gives the chance to the user to have something in his hands which can read.
The idea of this easy to be produced one-page book is that it can be given to other people, sending a message of hope.

My target audience is adults (people older than 18 years old). I have circulated the above story to various greek and native friends. My greek friends have understood that the story is influenced by the song ‘en lefko’ and they really liked the idea. This is a song with powerful meaning with the aim to send a strong message about hope. My native friends, although they didn’t know the song, they have read the story carefully and receive the message and the main feeling. Overall, everybody engaged with the story, emphasizing that the strong words are creating visual images in their mind, touching their inner world. At the beginning of the story, the pain, anxiety and loneliness are obvious, in contrast with the end which sends a message of hope; a better tomorrow. People felt related.
I have also asked some people to close their eyes while listening to the song and try the experiment with the doodling. They found the process really interesting and the results are remarkably beautiful.

This piece of work can easily be part of a gallery. The viewers, coming across the artwork which consists of transparent polaroid images and text (key sentences and words from the story), will have the chance to get the vibe of the song/story and look at it from a different approach; visual perspective.
When I circulated the above artwork (documentation of it) to various friends, they were amazed by how the transparencies create this mysterious mood. They all got the feeling of melancholy, pain and asphyxia in the first set of layers. In the second one, they all noticed the word hope and successfully connected it with the hand, receiving the message of hope at the end.
The text next to the artworks was really helpful for the viewers to understand the overall meaning of the artwork which is based on the song ‘en lefko’ by Natassa Mpofiliou.
